I'm glad your publication is setting its own standards. I think everything you wrote in this article also applies to the accuracy and fact-checking of articles. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've argued with writers about health and nutrition because they've written (usually terrible if not dangerous) advice based on their own subjective experience, small-scale studies that have been disproven, or studies from questionable researchers with questionable funding. Since Medium is only a platform, it's up to the publications to hold their accepted article to the standards of integrity and not just become another hub for fake news...
